Buying

How do I find the right tyre size? The size is printed on the sidewall of your current tyre, e.g. 205/55 R16 91V: 205 is the width in millimetres, 55 the aspect ratio (height as a percentage of width), 16 the rim diameter in inches. 91 is the load index and V the speed index – new tyres should have at least the same values. Approved sizes are also listed in the car's manual or on the label in the door frame.

Does the car have different sizes front and rear? Yes, some sports cars do. Add two tyres of each size to the cart – both lines end up in the same order.

How many tyres should I buy? We recommend four identical tyres for the best handling. If you replace only two, the new ones should go on the rear axle. The default quantity in the shop is 4, but you can change it.

What do "Premium", "Medium" and "Budget" mean? They are price classes to help you compare. All tyres we sell are approved for Norwegian conditions, but premium brands tend to perform better in tests, with lower noise and longer life.

What does the EU label mean? The EU label shows fuel efficiency (A–E), wet grip (A–E) and noise (dB). Click the label on the product page to see the full product sheet in the EU database EPREL.

Payment

When is my card charged? When you order, the amount is reserved on your card, in Vipps or with Klarna. It is only charged when the tyres are ready for pickup or have been shipped – you get an e-mail about it. Cancelling before that costs nothing.

Which payment methods can I use? Visa and Mastercard, Vipps and Klarna. Business customers can use card and Vipps.

Is the order confirmation also a confirmation of my workshop appointment? No. The order confirmation covers the tyre purchase. Your requested appointment is confirmed in a separate e-mail once we have checked the calendar.

Delivery and pickup

How quickly do I get the tyres? Tyres in our own stock are ready [the same or next working day]. Tyres we order from the supplier normally reach the workshop within [3 working days]. For home delivery add [1–2] working days (Østfold) or [2–5] working days (rest of Norway).

What does shipping cost? Pickup at the workshop is free. Home delivery is calculated at checkout from postcode and number of tyres – see Shipping and delivery.

What if the tyre is sold out after I ordered? We contact you immediately and offer an equivalent tyre or cancellation at no cost.

Fitting and appointments

How do I book an appointment? Add fitting to your order and choose a time at checkout, or go to Book an appointment. You can choose times up to 30 days ahead. We confirm by e-mail, usually within one working day.

What does fitting cost? See Services and prices. Prices are "from" prices and are paid at the workshop when the work is done – not in the web shop.

Can I book without buying tyres? Yes – for example a wheel change with your own tyres, puncture repair or A/C service. Use Book an appointment.

I need to cancel or change my appointment. Reply to the confirmation e-mail or call us as early as possible, preferably the day before.

Returns and complaints

Can I withdraw from the purchase? Yes, within 14 days after receiving the tyres, as long as they have not been mounted or driven on. See Returns and right of withdrawal.

The tyre is faulty – what do I do? Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos. You have the right to complain for at least two years.

Tyres and seasons

When do I need winter tyres? Norway has no fixed date for winter tyres, but you must have tyres suited to the conditions – in practice winter tyres when there is ice or snow. Studded tyres are allowed from 1 November until the first Sunday after Easter Monday (in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark from 15 October to 1 May). Always check the current rules at vegvesen.no.

What is the minimum tread depth? The legal minimum is 1.6 mm for summer tyres and 3 mm for winter tyres. For safety we recommend changing earlier.

How do I store my tyres? Dry, dark and cool, lying flat or – on rims – standing with slightly reduced pressure. [EVVA does not currently offer tyre storage.]
